I have been doing this Internet stuff for a long time, but decided today the only start my first blog. Not exactly sure why I decided to do this. I was instant messaging with Leah yesterday, and she asked me if I was snooping around in her blog. I was not. Told her I was not. Since I am a believing person, I believe she believed me.
I'm not exactly sure what I'm hoping to have happen with this particular exercise, my first venture into having a blog, but we shall see.

Jim, it has been a long time since I've heard your old editorial piece in the Victoria County Record back in the 70's. Nice to see you are still at it! It is your world, indeed!

So this is the day number two on my attempt to use one of these blogs.
I sent an e-mail to everyone in my contact list to show them what I had done. Quite a few replied, thank you. But none of them replied on these pages.
I'm really hoping that someone puts in a few comments! Otherwise, oh well!
hey paps.
good luck with blogging.
i believed you, but don't take offence to me having thought you had been 'snooping'...
it wouldn't have been unusual to hear that you (parents) had been reading my blogs.
but i don't blame you for reading. i don't exactly keep you (or mom) up to date with everything.
Hi Jim, I've been always wanted to "snoop" your world. If you would like to share it in your blog, it woule be great!! I'll read it everyday. It helps my English learing as well.
Rick
Well, this is really nice. People are beginning to respond! I am happy to see that my beloved daughter, Leah, who, for some reason, is now using the name "Alice" on her instant messaging, has posted.
I'm also happy to see that Rick has joined in as well. Since Rick will be looking at this from an English acquisition/learning point of view, it makes me realize I need to be more careful about what and how things are said!

Today has been particularly busy day. We have successfully finished the decision-making process for what we're going to do in their backyard! Hard to believe. We're not going to put in a hot tub that we were hoping to put in, this, for a bunch of reasons. In fact, we're not going to put in any hot tub ! So today, Jamie should be coming over to rip out the old wood fence which is that the back, and replace it with a plastic fence that will be almost invisible, which will also hopefully keeps the deer out. This old fence will then become the working material to build forms for the cement the retaining wall for the back of the terrace.
Hi Jim, Hi everyone,
This is Sophie, from Quebec.
I am excited to read your blog and to hear from you more conveniently that way.
So, I deduct from your text that you have deers coming to your backyard?
You better have lots of lettuce to feed them, then!
Anyway, here in Montreal, it's very hot and humid, we have scarecrows yelling at each other at 5 in the morning, but everyone in the family here is okay.
I have to go now, it's late at night, here!
I hope you will have a chance to help me find ways to create my blog too!
Hug,
Sôphie
I've worked with you for several years on the net and I have yet to get a blog myself. So glad you decided to jump in first! *grin* It is hot and humid in Florida this weekend. Last night we had a wicked t-storm that was quite an amazing show. I used to tell my son when he was little that God was taking flash pictures when the lightning would flash. At 14 he is still unafraid to stand in the window to watch the storms with a big smile...while the dog cowers under the bed!
From the deer in the backyard to thunderstorms in Florida, from dogs hiding under the bed to sweltering temperatures in Ontario ... we try not to feed the deer purposefully, they believe our guarding is their grocery store.
We have replaced the old of the wooden fence with an invisible plastic fence that you can only see moving in the sun it's in the right way. apparently the deer get distracted and move along !
If you want people to comment you have to write things in the first place. You can probably find somewhere on the net on how to do it.
i remember something you said when we moved to bc. you said that i could completely change who i am, make up a personality, and become anyone i want.. and nobody would know. they would never meet the old me or know that they're meeting someone fictional.
i didn't really make up a new me, or become her. i don't think i'd be able to stick to a new personality. i'd probably slip.
but i'm thinking of introducing myself as alice when i start school. just to see if i can respond to it. i like the role alice played in your life, and i think/hope i'm somewhat like her. personality-wise. when i come to visit you in a couple of weeks.. wanna help me create a personality? of course ill be slipping from my real me to the fake me depending on who i'm with, but i want to try this out. and hopefully not end up with a personality disorder.
oh yeah, and it's good to see that you're figuring out this blogging thing, and that the comments are adding up.
how are you sophie? i haven't seen you in so long it's ridiculous. and kelly.. ive seen you so little that (don't take offence) you're like a fictional character. someone in a book. i've heard your voice on dad's phone more often than i've seen you. so i've made up the way you move and look when you talk. you're like a person in a book one reads..
you just have to give them a look and character based on the little you're given.
:D
